What online EMDR therapy in Arizona is like

Working through trauma can be done with online EMDR therapy

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a type of trauma therapy that uses bilateral stimulation, like eye movement, to reprocess past trauma memories. EMDR enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress resulting from disturbing life experiences.

Traditionally this type of therapy is done in person, where a therapist will use their fingers as a point to follow with your eyes to do the bilateral stimulation. Once COVID-19 hit, trauma therapy was now directed online, so things have changed a bit! There is a technology now that enables the same rapid eye movement that you would get in person.

I utilize a system that my clients can view online, where they follow a dot across the screen using their computer, and I have seen the same effect using this method as I had in person. Patient’s are still reprocessing their trauma, feeling benefits, having less depression and anxiety, and overall better self-esteem.

So if you are interested in working through your trauma using EMDR online and unsure whether it could still be effective, I am here to tell you that you can get just as much help online as you can in-person.
